After Four Years and Back

Currently: taking a break from responsibilities (haha)

I finally got my I.D. for SY 2008-2009. I think I like it better than last year’s I.D.

Interesting features:

  • It has your birthday and year printed on it. My friend was telling me that it was to ensure that minors would not be served alcoholic beverages since their birth date and year are displayed on the I.D.
  • The barcode is on the side again. Hooray! Now I can put back my I.D. protector and swipe without the hassle of removing it everytime I swipe. HAHA!
  • My I.D. color code is now DARK BLUE; thus, signaling the beginning of my final year as a college student. It’s funny how back in freshman year, I absolutely had no clue regarding the “color-coding” scheme of the I.D.‘s in AdMU. I remember it was KatD who shed some light on my cluelessness and explained the color coding scheme to me.

After getting my I.D., I accompanied my sister to the Office of Admission and Aid (OAA) this morning. She needed to inquire on the transferee process because her friend’s friend was transferring to AdMU. Funny how the last time I was here was 4 summers ago, when I was confirming my own freshman enrollment here in the Ateneo.

While falling in line inside the office, I overheard a conversation that went on between a waitlisted applicant (WA) and the desk person (DP).

After everyone has confirmed their slot siguro.
WA: Mga ilan po bang waitlisted applicants ang tinatanggap niyo?
DP: Mga 150 siguro…
WA: Ilan po ba waitlisted ngayon?
DP: Mga 500 siguro…
WA:* sighs * Is there someone I can talk to about this? I really really really need to get a slot here in Ateneo. I haven’t submitted my grades to any university yet and malapit na mag-June…
DP: Ah, saan po ba kayo nag-high school?
WA: Sa Ateneo High po.
DP:Ah, I see.
WA: Is there anyone I can talk to right now? I really need to get in. Sabi ng mga friends ko na alumni na mabilis lang magtransfer ng waitlisted mula sa Ateneo High…
DP: Ah, ganun ba? Sorry talaga… if you want, you can just write a letter of appeal. There’s nothing we can do right now since ngayon pa lang nagcoconfirm yung mga accepted applicants. ..
WA: * sighs miserably and leaves *

I couldn’t help but pity the poor guy since he looked like he desperately wanted to enroll in the Ateneo. It must suck to be waitlisted and not have a school yet xD It’s at times like these when I feel lucky to have gotten accepted into the university of my choice, without having to deal with something like that. Poor guy. I hope things turn out for the best for him.

  • ~ * ~ *

Still busy with OrSem work. It was uber hot today, but I didn’t have much of a choice since I had to go around admin offices and the offices of the 4 Deans to fix some OrSem stuff. It was actually my first time to explore the halls of Leong Hall today while paying a visit to Dean Cruz’s office. Pretty, pretty building! teehee ♥ I wanna go and hang out in Leong Hall next time because the comfort rooms are clean, it’s not so hot, and the air is fresh out there—-so unlike my one-and-only class located at CTC, the mother of all hot buildings _

Every day, for one and a half hours, I live my academic life.
Every day, for one and a half hours, this is what I only see:

No wonder I get easily bored and am in the brink of insanity. LOL XD

I have 5 minutes to comment lol…

wahahaha shet good luck 4th year na!

and omg I had the same expression when I saw my red color-coded id… I’m no longer a freshman.

lol about the waitlisted applicant lol I was much the same way last year. I wasn’t able to confirm my slot in UST cause I got lost in their Rizal Building, I missed the Lasalle confirmation by a few hours and I came home one day feeling shet wala na kong future when my aunt told me while I was taking my shoes off “MARK may tumawag galing ateneo”... TAKBO SA PHONE!

seriously I don’t think they only accept 150 WA… specially if he’s from ateneo high and he had good grades during 4th year it would be easy. As long as hindi rejected. Its really all in persistence (I was calling the OAA every other day last year)

Hey Casper!

Why the window seat? There wasn’t really much of a choice since by the time I went to class, almost all the seats were filled already. I wanted a seat that was somewhere in front and near my blockmates, so I ended up by the window. HAHAHA not that I’m complaining though… I can always look outside and people-watch the people at SOM mall. HAHAHA

5 minutes? Bakit 5 minutes? O_o

haha welcome to sophomore life, MK! Mabibinyag ka sa SOM once you start taking Accounting classes. AHAHAHAHA :P

Grabe naman yan @ __ @ Hassle! xD I don’t think mga 150 either. Depends talaga on how many accepted applicants push through with confirming their slots, I guess… :) Kinda scary though to NOT have a school before June…
