Passion To Serve
I just came from the 5-day ASLA Leadership Congress and the Celadon EvSem. I haven’t exactly been at home for the past two weeks (much to everyone’s surprise—even to myself XD), but here I am, home, rich with experience and memories. In all honesty, I am finding it hard to describe everything that I had gone through this past week. I am overwhelmed with a hodgepodge of emotions, that words alone are not enough to express what I truly feel inside. In fact, I strongly feel that no amount of words or actions can give justice to the experience and memories I’ve had during the 5-day Congress that soon overflowed to Celadon’s EvSem (Gelo, Gin, and I were still on ASLA high, too haha).
Everything just seemed to fall into place at Camp Explore—the setting, the bonfire, the blessing of rain, the guidance and empowerment given to our participants, and more importantly…that passion to serve that blazed throughout my Being.
Have you ever experienced wanting time to stand still, with not a care in the world? I remember one night when Jeff, Jaron, and I decided to go out to the open field in the middle of the night, lie down on the ground, and stargaze. It was one of the most surreal and peaceful moments I had ever experienced in my entire life. The stars shone brightly and beautifully that night, the wind blew gently, and everything was serene. It made me realize how vast and infinite our world is, and how small I was in this universe. Yes, I was a tiny speck—but a tiny speck able to make change in her own little way.
I am on ASLA high, and I don’t remember the last time that I had felt this way. 2 years ago, perhaps?
